LIMEP Visits Energy Tax Savers
August 4th, 2025
On August 4th, the Long Island Manufacturing Extension Partnership (LIMEP) team—Amy Erickson and Maheen K.—met with Energy Tax Savers / R&D Tax Savers’Charles Goulding and Andrea Albanese at their Syosset headquarters.
Facilitated by an introduction from ITAC ’s Kinda Younes, the meeting included a tour
of ongoing projects and discussions on how manufacturers in industries like aerospace,
life sciences, energy, pharma, and food production can benefit from federal and New
York State R&D tax credits.
The visit concluded with a luncheon and plans for future collaboration. LIMEP will
host an August 20th event to introduce R&D Tax Savers to Long Island manufacturers
and share how businesses can explore their eligibility for R&D credits.

Free Training + Grant Opportunities = Cybersecurity Success, July 15, 2021
FuzeHub and AIM are pleased to announce two new grant opportunities for eligible NYS DoD manufacturers who attend our July 15th Cybersecurity Workshop. This virtual hands-on event will guide you through the process of completing a free cybersecurity self-assessment, calculating your SPRS score, and reporting it to the DoD.
Looking for some additional help?
- Four of the first fifty manufacturers who attend, and have not worked with NY MEP in the last four years, could receive a $5,000 assistance grant for a personalized cybersecurity assessment or remediation. Distribution of the grants and services will be coordinated through your regional MEP center.
- Additionally, we will also award a single $10,000 grant to an attendee to go to the RIT Cybersecurity Boot Camp. The next RIT Cybersecurity Boot Camp is scheduled for August.

On April 12, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the release of Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 Notices of Funding Opportunity for eight DHS Preparedness Grant programs totaling more than $1.7 billion. The grant programs provide funding to state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) governments, as well as transportation authorities, nonprofit organizations, and the private sector, to improve the Nation’s readiness in preventing, protecting against, responding to, recovering from, and mitigating terrorist attacks, major disasters, and other emergencies. Preparedness Grant recipients can use them in part to implement activities related to cybersecurity.
Join CISA for a May 29 webinar on this topic, co-hosted by Regional Consortium Coordinating Council (RC3) and the State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Government Coordinating Council (SLTTGCC). CyberSecurity Workshop Training, May 15 2019
The primary purpose of our one-day 8-hour workshop is to ensure that small businesses are aware of the cybersecurity requirements mandated under Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) Subpart 204.73. We will focus on understanding the risks associated with safeguarding controlled unclassified DoD information.
The workshops will focus on the groups of controls from NIST 800-171, with examples highlighting what happens when these controls are not implemented. By the end of. each workshop, you will become familiar with all 110 controls and be able to better identify the areas you may need greater focus to meet the DoD's cybersecurity expectations. The FDA FSMA was signed into law in 2011. After years of rule making, the compliance dates for small and very small businesses have hit in 2017 and 2018. If you have a food company, you need to know how this law impacts you. FSMA enables FDA problems after they occur. The law also gives FDA new enforcement authorities to achieve higher rates of compliance with prevention- and risk-based safety standards.
